The Messy Weekend

This weekend was messy.

It started out with the allergies. Puffy eyes, crusty eyes, itchy eyes, stuffy nose, the works.

Then there was the messy scavenger hunt. After "running" around downtown Nashville for 1 hour, 57 minutes and 11 seconds, we were sweaty... and a bit messy.

Then there was the UT vs Florida game. That sure was a mess.

Sunday brought a bit of confusion with the messy schedule of the video and discussion Daniel had to endure.

We then had the messiest of it all with the middle school Messy Olympics.

Finally, we brought the weekend to a close with a messy goodbye of tears, sorrow, and sheep.

But the messiest of it all was at the beginning of the scavenger hunt. We got off to a rather lack-luster start with a bit of argument and confusion. It was so bad we almost scrapped the whole thing and chalked it up to a bad idea. The beauty is that we didn't. Despite having our issues, we were able to work them out and make the best of the situation. Same happened when we got back home. It got messy (despite the fact that a shower was involved). But then again, isn't every relationship a bit messy? It's not about the arguing but rather the making up. Once we had a chance to talk and sort things out, we realized that we both needed to be a bit more understanding and slow to anger.

What I think is best is that there's always a moment during our messy times that we have a few seconds to ourselves to think things over. Every time I pray that God will provide us with the wisdom to sort things out and that whatever comes of it will be all for his glory. And every time after doing so, we seem to have a level head, more compassion and greater understanding for one another. It always ends that we're stronger because of our weaknesses. Funny how it all works out.

All in all, this weekend was messy-the messiest of them all. But what's the point of being piggies if we don't get a little messy? :(=))
